The Best Hair Colour Salon In Woking, Surrey

STEP 1:  Have A Skin Test Before Your Hair Colour Appointment

We are only able to offer hair colouring to men and women over the age of 16 here at our hair salon in Woking.  It is also vital that you come in for a quick skin test at least 48 hours prior to your first colour appointment to test for allergies to the colour products we use.  There's no need to book in for a patch test as it takes a minute or two.  We will not be able to colour your hair without a record of a skin test.

Which Hair Colour Should I Choose?

If you have seen an image of a hair colour you love, bring it in so we can assess whether this shade will work for you.  Think about what you want to achieve.  For example, do you want to liven up your natural hair colour? Do you want to disguise grey hair? Do you want to turn heads with a bold hair colour?  Do you want a subtle hair colour change?  Book in for a complimentary hair colour consultation with a Hair Lab colour expert so we can help you find the perfect hair colour for you.

Start With A Natural-Looking Hair Colour – Balayage or Highlights

If you are nervous or new to colouring your hair, consider a low maintenance and subtle option such as balayage or highlights.   Balayage allows us to hand-paint vertical sections of your hair to give soft, natural looking highlights.  When your hair grows, your root regrowth tends not to notice if we keep your roots closer to your natural or base hair colour.  Highlights can also look very natural and can be scattered throughout your hair.

If you love your natural hair colour but have some annoying grey hairs that you want to cover, chat to your skilled Hair Lab hair colourist about adding highlights & low lights to help blend them in.  A glossing treatment can also be used to add tone to your hair colour and camouflage grey hair.

Temporary or Permanent Hair Colour?

There are benefits to both, so let's explore these:

Temporary Hair Colour – If you are colouring your hair for the first time, consider a temporary hair dye which will wash out over a few shampoos. You can only go darker with temporary hair colour. If you want to lighten your hair, you will need to use a semi-permanent or permanent dye.

Semi-Permanent Hair Colour – For longer-lasting colour, try a semi-permanent hair colour which is great if you want to subtly boost your natural hair colour or cover your first grey hairs.

Permanent Hair Colour – Permanent hair dye deposits the hair colour deeper within each hair strand so your colour will be permanent. As a result, your roots will need re-touching every eight weeks.
